Converting Home Movies to DVD
Group and Organize
Make sure tapes are organized by type. It’s helpful to label them properly. Video formats include VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, BetaMax, Video 8, Hi8, Digital-8, and MiniDV. FotoBridge can convert homes to DVD format regardless of the original tape.
If you’re sending additional items to be digitally converted, protect the tapes. You can place smaller boxes within a larger box to separate the multiple types of formats.
Place a protective packing material in the shipping box. This will prevent the tapes from shifting during the shipping process.
Include Order Confirmation
Once you’ve placed your home movie collection in the box with the proper packing material, print out your order confirmation. Place this in the box. This is especially important if you have specific order comments. It also helps to easily identify your order.
Find the Right Carrier
Most 3rd party secure shippers (FedEx, UPS) can pick up your package from your home or office at your convenience.
When shipping, add package tracking. This may cost extra but provides peace of mind. You can use a tracking number to see the progress of your shipment.
