Get Your Photo Collection Organized After Scanning PhotosIn our two previous articles, Photo Organizing Advice For After You Scan Photos and Beyond Photo Scanning: Photo Organizing Tips from the Experts, we featured fantastic APPO members who provided advice on photo organizing. Megan McCourt is just as passionate about photo organizing as her fellow APPO members. Personal photo organizing is a career that combines her love of photography, history, and helping others. Below she shares insight about what her clients struggle most with and a couple tips for how you can conquer your own photo organizing project after scanning photos.

Megan McCourtMegan is the owner of Picture This Photo Solutions, LLC, and is one of only two certified photo organizers in the State of Virginia. She is passionate about helping people get their photos out of the closet, off the computer and back in to their hands to be enjoyed now and as a legacy for future generations.

“My clients struggle most with feeling overwhelmed when they attempt to organize their lifetime of photos. Some also struggle with lack of creativity. They want to do something with their photos, they just don't know how.

First, approach your project in baby steps. Start by sorting through one box or bag at a time. Second, move away from the idea of organizing chronologically and focus more on categories such as weddings, birthdays, vacations, etc.

I'm passionate about photos and I love the opportunity to help people reconnect with their own. I've worked with clients before who have inherited boxes of photos when their parent passes away; they're looking through them for the first time with me, and they discover a baby photo of themselves they've literally never seen before. It's an amazing experience to share with them!

FotoBridge is top-of-the-line when it comes to outsourcing your photo/movie digitizing needs. They are family-owned and operated and they handle each project as if it were their own. FotoBridge NEVER ships your materials out of the country. All work is performed at their facility in the USA.”
